Summer Get Away: Ren and Ayumi by marionettist

I integrated the elements extracted from both the mascots and their roommates, drawing inspiration from Summerfest. In my creation, I included a watermelon, a cooler, and a bat on the floor, all reminiscent of the Summerfest atmosphere. The beach backdrop and the presence of bubbles symbolize the tranquil ambiance of a cool ocean breeze, inviting one to unwind and enjoy a refreshing beverage. Bing Chillin

Disclaimer: This artist does not touch grass very often so there might be some delusions. My first thought after seeing the prompt was the glorious beach episode found in every romcom known to man. I thought Ren and Ayumi would look really cute in fancy swimsuits, lazing around at some un-named sandy beach while drinking those rainbow-coloured drinks. My mind blanked out as my hand moved and somehow the piece came out. I did make sure to thumbnail this piece beforehand because it's hard to draw backgrounds and props otherwise. As a wise man once said, the key to good art is simping. Happy Summer Break!

I was inspired to draw this theme because it is a summer contest. (sorry, it was really rushed). Something interesting maybe is that i drew it with my sketchbook first, then i cleaned it up and transfered it on my phone to outline and color (using my fingers TT)

I was reading Ren's character bio, and thought it was really cool how she was in a metal band, since it's a completely different vibe in how we usually see her. So then, I got really inspired to draw the Dengeki Angels aka Ren's Norwegian black metal band. The visuals are mostly drawn from a concert I saw at Red Gate last week :)
